The Arts Council of Westerville is seeking a passionate Membership and Volunteer Coordinator to lead our community engagement and organizational growth efforts. Job Type: Contract - 10 - 15 hours per month - flexible; occasional evenings and weekends for meetings and events 

Pay: $17.00 per hour 

A successful candidate will: 

  • One or more years experience with volunteer and/or event coordination or community organizing. 

  • Must be a self-starter with a collaborative attitude and must be able to work independently or as a team member. 

  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills.   

  • Exceptional attention to detail and possesses strong organizational, time management and record keeping skills. 

  • Personable and able to develop a positive rapport with individuals while maintaining a strong sense of professionalism. 

  • Ability to build collaborative working practices with multiple community organizations. 

  • Good computer skills and ability to work with different computer applications including Google Suite. 

  • Possess a good understanding of community arts and non-profit organizations.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Membership Coordinator Responsibilities: 

Manage all tasks related to ACW membership 

  • Develop and implement membership outreach campaigns and activities 

  • Induct new members, track membership in Excel 

  • Track payments and renewals (including renewal notifications) 

  • Ensure high quality of customer service and communications for all members 

  • Prepare and distribute targeted quarterly membership emails to member segments 

  • Mail appropriate materials to Business members (window cling) 

  • Maintain up to date online membership directory 

  • Develop new ways to support our artist, non-profit and business members  

Volunteer Coordinator Responsibilities: 

Manages all tasks related to ACW Volunteers 

  • Manage the volunteer database 

  • Track volunteer hours for annual reporting 

  • Recruit, train, and supervise new volunteers 

  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments 

  • Organization of volunteer enrichment, events, and retention 

  • Communicate with ACW Marketing Coordinator to promote and market new opportunities on social media platforms, website, and at live events 

  • Plan marketing campaigns in coordination with the Marketing Coordinator to recruit new volunteers as needed 

  • Communicate with new and existing volunteers on upcoming opportunities 

  • Create fliers and marketing materials to promote opportunities 

Miscellaneous Responsibilities: 

  • Track and report monthly hours 

  • Attend ACW Executive and General Monthly Meetings 

  • Attend ACW Events when possible 

  • Represent ACW at meetings upon invitation from community leaders, organizations, businesses, non-profits, city officials, partnerships, etc.  

  • Volunteer, fill-in gaps, and represent as needed at ACW events
