2026 WCS District Art Show & Virtual Exhibit
Hosted by the Arts Council, the Westerville City Schools District Art Show showcases outstanding artwork by students in grades K-12. Art teachers district-wide were invited to select artwork from each school to be included in the exhibit.
Over 100 pieces of incredible student artwork have been presented, representing guidance by the teachers and the creativity and talent of their students. The art exhibit is on display April 1-26 at the Westerville Community Center. Mediums demonstrated by the students include: acrylic paint, oil pastels, watercolors, colored pencil, charcoal and chalk, collage, printmaking, digital art prints and origami. Thanks to the generosity of Andy’s Frame Setting, the art pieces have been professionally mounted and prepared for hanging.
The show will wrap up on Sunday April 26th with receptions at the Community Center. The Arts Council will welcome the young artists, their families, and teachers for a special afternoon recognizing the vital role the arts play in our lives.
Following a welcome by Dr. Jan Fedorenko, School Superintendent Angela Hamberg will address both receptions. Members of the Westerville North High School choral group The Notables, under the direction of teacher Elizabeth Brosius, will perform for the high school and middle school artists and families at 1pm. Students from Annehurst Elementary who are members of the African Drum Group led by teacher Mary Rebecca Fortman will entertain the elementary artists and their families at 2pm.
The Arts Council of Westerville is truly honored to celebrate the amazing young creators and their teachers.
Thanks to Photographer Dick Wood and Videographer Dave Henry, the student art may be viewed as a virtual exhibit, set to music and beautifully presented, at this LINK
