Fifty years of zombies!
It all started with George Romero’s movie Night of the Living Dead in 1968.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the horror movie classic, the Arts Council of Westerville, in partnership with Otterbein University, will screen the film on Friday, October 19.
Celebrate the approach of Halloween by watching characters in an old farmhouse fight off bloodthirsty, flesh-eating monsters. Dr. Karen Steigman, director of the Film Studies Program at Otterbein, and Dr. Patricia Frick, professor in the Department of English, will provide an introduction, discuss how the film was made and consider its impact on the horror movie genre.
The presentation will be held at The Point facility at Otterbein University, 60 Collegeview Road, at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments and popcorn will be provided. The screening is free; however, a donation of $5.00 is suggested.
